Musik spielt im künstlerischen Schaffen von Mariechen Danz eine große Rolle – als bildende Künstlerin setzt sie Gesang in ihren Performances ein und nutzt so die Möglichkeiten der Popmusik als akzeptiertes Kommunikationsmittel. Danz’ Ausstellung cube cell stage ist derzeit in der GAK Gesellschaft für Aktuelle Kunst zu sehen.
 
Anlässlich dieser Einzelausstellung wird sie mit ihrer Band UNMAP ein Konzert auf der MS Treue, vis-à-vis der GAK, geben. Mariechen Danz, Alex Stolze (Bodi Bill), Thomas Fietz (Drums) und Matthias Geserick (Bass) bringen als UNMAP moderne Popsongs und wavelastigen Elektrosoul auf die Bühne. UNMAPs Stil ist gekennzeichnet durch Songs mit dunklem, roughem Sound, klaren Beats und melancholischem Gesang. UNMAP dringt ins Ohr, bleibt im Kopf.

Music plays an important role in the artistic practice of Mariechen Danz. In her performances she often combines the tradition of oral history through songs with pop music, utilizing the possibilities inherent in this form as an accepted communication format.

As a musician Danz is part of the band UNMAP (Alex Stolze (Bodi Bill), Thomas Fietz (Drums) und Matthias Geserick (Bass)). Together they perform modern pop songs with a dark rough sound and demanding lyrics. In the context of her solo show cube cell stage at GAK Bremen she will give a concert with UNMAP on the ship MS Treue opposite the GAK. Listen to UNMAP here.
